Treasury Confirms Full Disbursement of Capitation Funds to Public Schools

    The National Treasury has officially confirmed that it has completed the full disbursement of capitation funds to all public schools across Kenya, ahead of the second term of the 2025 academic calendar.  This announcement brings a measure of relief to school administrators and education stakeholders who have previously raised concerns over delayed or inadequate funding. According to the statement released by the Treasury, a total of Ksh 31.34 billion has been disbursed, covering both primary and secondary institutions. Green card application results to be Issued on May 4 

Green card application results to be Issued on May 4. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that results for the proposed DV-2025 Diversity Visa (also known as the Green Card Lottery) will be released on Saturday, May 4, 2024. 


Applications for the  DV-2025 program are open October 4, 2023 and close November 7, 2023. Visa.   The visa holder becomes a  permanent resident of the United States and enjoys all the benefits of that status, including the protections and privileges of U.S. law.   


To participate, participants must have a high school education or  equivalent or have work experience.   The program, normally administered by the US State Department, excludes 18 countries from the DV-2025 program.   


Blocked countries include: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, People's Republic of China (including people born in mainland China and Hong Kong), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan , Philippines, South Korea (Southern Hemisphere), Venezuela and Vietnam.  

 

The United States Department of Homeland Security announced that the above-mentioned countries were excluded due to the arrival of more than 50,000 immigrants to the United States in the last five years.   


In the previous program, approximately 3,760 Kenyans were given the opportunity to immigrate to the United States. This was selected from 22,185,619  entries.   A total of 143,000 applications from around the world were processed, but only 55,000 received US visas.   

Winning the lottery does not  guarantee obtaining a visa to move to the United States, and according to the Department of State Surveillance, most successful applicants are often turned away because the department must reach 55,000 points.    

How to Check To find out if your application has been successful,

 applicants must provide their approval number,  name and year of birth.   When the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the results, participants must confirm their applications by clicking the link below.
