Under the New Deal, 100,000 Teachers Will See Pay Increases in July.

According to the new agreement, the salaries of 100,000 teachers will be increased in July. Teaching Assistants (TSC) have a positive impact on employment, pay and recruitment across a range of careers, including apprenticeships and permanent positions. Teachers are paid regularly and still receive social benefits.

In addition, the committee is responsible for monitoring all kinds of support, changes and disciplines in education. It ensures that all issues affecting teachers are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Most teachers expect a salary increase in July 2024. The support is particularly important for long-term employees as they are already preparing for the next salary change, which is scheduled to start in July 2024. TSC and teachers just signed the contract.

However, it is important to remember that not all teachers will benefit from this much-needed support. Employment during the first salary adjustment period and before July 2023 is an eligibility requirement.   According to the new law, the salaries of 100 thousand teachers will be increased in July.

The Finance Committee awarded a huge allocation of Sh369.94 billion to TSC under the Ministry of Education. This grant demonstrates a strong commitment to education and is currently awaiting final approval.   With some of this money, the entire Collective Agreement (TİS) process for the 2021-2025 period will be implemented.

The agreement represents a decision to improve teacher training and employment. Because many teachers' unions signed the contract. Apart from professional teachers, these unions include the Kenya Union of  Primary  Teachers (KUPPET), the Kenya Union of Special  Education Teachers (KUSNET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).

In the CBA contract, it was stated that the first  salary adjustment would begin on July 1, 2023, and the last stage should end on June 30, 2024. Going forward, the second and final phase of the TSC CBA salary increase should start on July 1, 2024 and last until June 30, 2025.  This is a significant shift in  ongoing efforts to improve teacher health across the country.
