Treasury Confirms Full Disbursement of Capitation Funds to Public Schools

    The National Treasury has officially confirmed that it has completed the full disbursement of capitation funds to all public schools across Kenya, ahead of the second term of the 2025 academic calendar.  This announcement brings a measure of relief to school administrators and education stakeholders who have previously raised concerns over delayed or inadequate funding. According to the statement released by the Treasury, a total of Ksh 31.34 billion has been disbursed, covering both primary and secondary institutions. Of this, Ksh 4.74 billion was allocated to public primary schools, while Ksh 26.6 billion was directed to public secondary schools under the Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) program.  These funds are crucial in supporting various operational needs including textbooks, laboratory equipment, examinations, and utilities. TSC CEO Is Now Set To Retire From Office.

The TSC boss is currently scheduled to retire from office. Many people would be interested in learning about Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia’s succession plan after she quits from her position as Secretary and CEO of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).   

According to the comments, Dr. Macharia will start a terminal leave of absence in March of the next year. She will do this as she waits until June 2025 to formally retire. Now she will make room for a contest to determine the heir.   

TSC is responding to rumors that emerged last year to confirm that Dr Macharia will step down at the end of his contract or when he reaches retirement age.   Dear TSC Commission Legal, Labor and Industrial Relations Director Cavin Anyuor, Dr. Nancy Macharia is a state leader.   Director of TSC Macharia has reached the retirement age determined by the Public Commission. The retirement age  is sixty.   

TSC CEO to retire and resign  However, Anyuor, Dr. Nancy Macharia will complete her 10-year term, which will end in 2025, in accordance with the TSC Constitution and Regulations.   


Anyuor shared his thoughts on the matter. He referenced Section 16(3) of the TSC Act of 2012, which designates the commission secretary/CEO as a State officer. It gives detailed information on what makes a State officer, in addition to Article 260 of the Constitution.   

Nancy Macharia Date of Birth  Dr. Macharia, who was born in 1963, has devoted almost 28 years of her professional life to supporting Kenya’s educational system.   

After a competitive hiring process in May 2015, Macharia was appointed to her present role at TSC, succeeding her old boss Gabriel Lengoiboni, who retired on June 30, 2015.   Since then, she has served as the commission’s top secretary until June 2020 despite opposition from stakeholders and education experts. She then decided to continue working for five more years, or until 2025.   

Strong leadership is a well-known quality of Dr. Nancy Macharia. Strict legislation designed to simplify the teaching profession serve as evidence of this.

 Additionally, it has aided in the delivery of services to children in Kenya.   Additionally, Macharia requested a teacher training certificate from the government. He used it to advocate for the hiring and promotion of more teachers.
