Treasury Confirms Full Disbursement of Capitation Funds to Public Schools

    The National Treasury has officially confirmed that it has completed the full disbursement of capitation funds to all public schools across Kenya, ahead of the second term of the 2025 academic calendar.  This announcement brings a measure of relief to school administrators and education stakeholders who have previously raised concerns over delayed or inadequate funding. According to the statement released by the Treasury, a total of Ksh 31.34 billion has been disbursed, covering both primary and secondary institutions. Of this, Ksh 4.74 billion was allocated to public primary schools, while Ksh 26.6 billion was directed to public secondary schools under the Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) program.  These funds are crucial in supporting various operational needs including textbooks, laboratory equipment, examinations, and utilities. Speaker Wetangula Mourns General Francis Ogolla As A Gallant Selfless Servant 

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Moses Wetang’ula has this evening mourned the passing on of the Kenya Chief of the Defence Forces; Gen. Francis Omondi Ogolla, terming it sad, unfortunate and untimely. 


Together with other 9 Kenya Defence Forces Officers, General Ogolla died after a chopper they were travelling in crashed in Kaben, Marakwet East on Thursday while on a tour of duty.


“I stand with the nation and our disciplined forces, grieving the tragic loss of Gen. Francis Omondi Ogolla, the Chief of the Defence Forces, whose untimely demise in a helicopter crash while on duty in Elgeiyo Marakwet County weighs heavily upon our hearts”, mourned Speaker Wetang’ula. 


“In this somber moment, my deepest condolences go out to the grieving families of his fellow officers including; Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu, Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira who together with Gen. Ogolla were offering theirs selfless service to the nation”, added Speaker Wetang’ula.


Speaker Wetang’ula noted that the selfless service offered to the nation by the fallen gallant officers will be remembered as a legacy of distinguished service to the nation.


“May the bereaved find solace in knowing that he died while steadfastly serving his country with honor and defending the cause of peace”, added Hon. Wetang’ula.  


The Officers died a chopper reported to have been carrying 12 people including senior officers of the rank of General when it went down.

TSC Intern Teachers Want Full Salary and Arrears After Court Ruling TSC Intern Teachers Want Full Salary and Arrears After Court Ruling. More than 56,000 teachers employed  by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) now want their employers to  pay them their full wages and allowances for working hours.   Some  teachers currently receiving TSC compensation have said they will go to court to ask the municipality to pay the compensation they owe for services at the school's primary school.
